ANCHOR HOCKING RARE BLUE MAYFAIR OPEN ROSE 37 OZ. 6 INCH JUICE PITCHER EXCELLENT made between 1931-1937, making this glass between 84-90 years old
. Actually this was made by the Hocking Glass Company before they joined with the Anchor. This glass was machine made by pressing the colored melted glass into the 2-part mold which results in its beautiful design of "Open Roses". I only wish I had more, because it is so gorgeous. When used on a dining room table for entertainment, this pitcher must have looked really awesome on the table. The top opening measures 4 Inches across sideways, and 4 1/2 inches from spout to handle, and is 6 inches tall (deep), as can be seen in the photographs. It is absolutely beautiful, and was purchased from an old estate sale on Long Island. Although it was pre-owned, it is in absolutely perfect condition, except for scratches on its bottom from use, as seen in the photographs, which is amazing, considering its age. Although this pattern has been plagued with many reproductions, the 6 inch juice pitcher was never reproduced in the famous "Mayfair Blue" color; the newly made ones were made in a very dark cobalt blue color, which can be seen in the last photograph from Gene Florence's Book on Reproductions of Depression Era glass. Also, from that same last picture, the new juice pitchers do NOT have the mold inner circle on its bottom as this one does (see Picture # 5), and the new handles are much more curved; this older one is attached more perpendicularly, (as seen in Picture # 3). I found this juicer pitcher just sitting inside a closed dining room cabinet where it must have sat on a shelf for many years and was kept safe, because the only scratches are on the bottom, where they would be expected to be found from a juice pitcher this old. I have been collecting unusual vintage objects for many years, and always try to describe the items as best as I can. Except for the scratches already mentioned on the bottom, I don't see any other scratches, or chips, fleabites, cracks, stains, cloudiness, or repairs anywhere on the bowl. It comes from a smoke-free home. I only accept PayPal, and never  charge extra for packaging and handling. Shipping and Insurance sent via USPS Priority
