Description
EXCEPTIONALLY NICE OLD & RARE BUERMANN HEAVYWEIGHT STYLE #4 DOM PEDRO SPURS & STRAPS Circa 1900. These all original, patented, heavy cast, one piece Chihuahua style spurs were favorites of the Mexican caballeros who worked the Great Plains cattle drives from 1880-1950 (see Buermann Catalog #35 page 41). They are 5 3/4" in overall length with a 3" depth and a 3 1/8" heel band spread at the boot entry point. The heel band is 1" in width with a rolled, oval surface, swinging strap buttons, integral 1 3/4" shank and a 2 1/4" 12 point #7 rowel. These Buermann spurs are patented low carbon cast steel with nickel plating.Over the years the spurs have developed an attractive patina due to loss of plating, light oxidation and normal use and wear. The surface displays a "cast in" daisy
pattern
design. The remnants of a Buermann makers mark consisting of several letters, numbers and a star can be seen on the inside heel band surface of the right spur. The mark is not fully legible due to years of wear and use. The straps are vintage 6 oz oil tanned bridle leather with nickel silver roller buckles and loops. Please review the description and photos carefully and email with questions.
