antique tansu or calligraphy box with hand hammered blacksmith fittings, the lock can work but not well, you have to jiggle the key to get the lock tab to pop out. has a slot over the locking drawer to put money in. excellent condition and patina. no damage. key included. probably edo period. its 8 3/4" tall, 8 1/4" across, and 13 1/2" inches deep. all drawers slide smoothly in and out.  i am consigining swords, koshirae, tsuba, fuchi kashira, kozuka from a collection, check my other items. all items shipped from usa. all items genuine and old.
