Ya'An
has a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate and is largely mild and humid. The presence of the mountains to the northwest greatly affects the city's climate. In the short winters, they help shield the city from cold Siberian winds.
The first giant panda was found in Baoxing County of Ya'an; Ya'an is also the origin of artificial planting tea of the world; Mengding Mountain in Mingshan County, has been keeping seven tea trees, which are believed to be the origins of tea, for more than 1,000 years.
This alpine tea of clouds and mist is grown in Si-Chuan provice, where thanks to dense highland fogs are very fitting conditions for tea leaves maturation. The flush runs at the end of april and beginning of may. The tea has very good detoxication effects, also helps to prevent gastrointestinal infections.
Flavor:
Lightly sweetish, richly aromatic brew of yellow-green colour gives dark nutty accents in flavour.
Brew Tips
Green tea does not require much time. Too long a steeping time will result in more bitterness and a less balanced flavor.
We recommend experimenting with a range of 1 - 3 minutes.
Japanese green teas generally taste best at 1 - 2 minutes while Chinese green teas seem to prefer 2 - 3 minutes (the smaller leaves of Japanese teas will extract faster than the generally larger leaves of Chinese teas).
Steeping time should be balanced with water temperature: the lower the temperature, the longer the tea can be steeped.
